Foods with calcium and protein play a particularly important role in building strong bodies and supporting growth and wellness. This section introduces children to those foods, which are found in the milk (milk, yogurt, and cheese) and meat (meat, poultry, fish, eggs, beans, and nuts) groups. Through age-appropriate activities, children will learn how their bodies use those foods. In addition, children will celebrate the growth and energy they get from calcium and protein foods by exploring ways that they are growing and by enjoying physical activities.
